One Step Closer
This week our adoption agency (see link) received referrals for 39 healthy girls ("referral" is the term used to signify the matching of a child with a family). Although we were not among those 39 families that received referrals, we rejoice with them. And it does mean that we're one step closer. At this point we're just glad to see that the people in front of us in the line (so to speak) are getting their referrals. As I mentioned in the last post, we are probably looking at a referral in May at the earliest. The process is moving forward!
They Say the Darndest Things
The other day our oldest son Easton saw a picture of Jennifer and I shortly after we were married. He proceeded to ask, "Where was I mommy? Was I in your tummy?" Jennifer let him know he wasn't yet in her tummy at that point. So he responded, "Was I in China?"
Still Waiting
The length of time between this post and the previous one reflects the fact that we don't have much to report right now. Yesterday, Jennifer read that the CCAA (office that processes adoptions in China) has reviewed dossiers through June of last year. We consider that great news. Since our dossier was logged into their office in August, they should be getting closer to reviewing ours.
That being said, there have not been any referrals since December due to the expansion and relocation of the CCAA's offices. We are hopeful referrals will be forthcoming soon. In the mean time, we continue to wait and pray. I have been reminding myself that in the big picture a few months isn't going to make a whole lot of difference. We had hoped to receive a referral in February if the CCAA offices hadn't gone through their expansion and relocation. Our best guess right now is that we might receive a referral as early as May.
